All dahlia seeds in this collection were carefully harvested from fully double dahlia blooms, giving you a higher likelihood of producing double-flowered seedlings. These seeds come from an isolated planting of approximately 280 dahlias, thoughtfully arranged in planned parent beds by form. I intentionally plant like with like—informal decoratives together, formal decoratives together, balls and mini balls in their own area, giants grouped together, waterlilies together, and so on. My belief is that growing similar forms in close proximity increases the chances of producing seedlings with strong form and true “keeper” potential. All seeds are open-pollinated, with the bees doing the hard work 🐝. This is the exact seed stock I use for my own hybridizing journey, making it especially meaningful to share. Each seed represents countless hours of care, planning, and patience—along with a little luck.
